Brakan wrestled locally for Mark Marinelli at Olentangy Liberty High School from 2013 - 2017 where he was a 2x District Champion and a State Champion. Brakan then wrestled for Tom Ryan at The Ohio State University from 2018 - 2019 where he was a 2x letter winner.
